Greetings to all of our Greer family and our extended family. At the end of November I made a trip to Houston to a convention we had thru my business. Dana and I took a day of vacation and slipped over to Lake Jackson and saw many old friends and some of our family. We talked about trying to make a spot for everyone to get together this next Thanksgiving2010. Thus the name for the blog. Most everyone gets to have Thanksgiving off and some have to be back at work by the following Monday. Mom, Dad, Aunt Mini, Uncle Jerry, myself along with Dana, Wendel, Terry Ann, Bo and JC all agreed this could be a wonderful time.

I am aware of some family issues and of problems of the past. I (James, Uncle Jamo, Butch, Jamo, James Glen when in trouble) am asking for those who wish to come please make time to come. Those who cannot, you will be missed and be assured we will talk about you ;0. There will be a sign up list for those who are coming so you will know who all is getting to come.

I believe the best way to do this is to tell you what it will cost and what the accomedations are and the dates. Then if you're like the rest of us you have to know far enough ahead of time to plan out the time and take vacation or check in with the powers that be. So below is the information you will need. This may be our last time to get to do this for several years so try to work this out.

Arrival Time is up to you: We are going to get a block of rooms at one of the two new hotels in the city and the rooms range from 75.00 per night for two with a king and 85.00 for two queens per room. Breakfast comes with the night's stay. (I will be the check in person to buy the block of rooms and will need to know when you're coming and how long you need rooms and how many rooms. I will put them on my card and then you can pay them when you leave.)

Thanksgiving Invitational Golf Tournament: Uncle Jerry will set up the tournament and I am sure he will make a couple of rules that help out his cause. There must be some wacky Invitational Golf tournament award, but we will see what he does with that.

For those poor unfortunate souls that don't play golf and will not play golf we will have cards and dominos and all kinds of games going on through out the house. Plus all the visiting you can get into. It will be a fun time.

Thanksgiving Family Picture: Directly Prior to the Meal (professionally done by one of my friends) It will be digital so we will email it to you and you can take it to any walmart and have it printed. This will be a time to remember.

Thanksgiving Day Meal: Is at 2:00 pm, Food Provided (this time frame kind of helps those who are traveling.) If you have something you want to bring please work thru Dana and her email is dananafrica@yahoo.com

Thanksgiving Football Game: Probably 3:00 pm, the Dallas Cowboys vs ?(tba)

We are not sure of the number of people coming, but as things start sorting out we will talk about meals and sack lunches for those traveling. We will also be glad to work out picking you up at the airport in Amarillo if you fly in. For the sake of Thanksgiving Day and all that is going on please try to come in prior to Thursday if you are flying.
